Not Quick

Our tissues don’t think that fast! not in the way of moving one’s arm or leg. Our fascia is a crystalline structure meaning ironically the fastest way to restructure it is slow consistent pressure to melt it and allow it to reorganize. Thinking we can brute force this tissue change is a fools errant. That we can simply break up that knote with more pressure. True we can break up adhesions (scar tissue) or diminish inflammation with this forceful approach but in order to address the other elements, solidified ground substance causing that area to be dehydrated, shifting the body into a deep parasympathetic state, or building deep body awareness, I’ve haven’t seen anything more effective than slow work and holds. One doesn’t just rock a crying baby for five minutes, they hold that baby till they stop crying. Give your tissues the time they need.
